We light our memorial candle to honour the lives of those who died and the survivors who carry their memory, and to reflect on the events that took place in our community six years ago.

This workshop is free of charge, and includes presentations, resources and conversations on planning for end of life care and what considerations you should think about.

Our next Social Drop-in Session is this Wednesday, April 15 at our office (89 Queen Street in Truro).

The drop in is free, and no registration is required. These sessions are an opportunity for anyone who is grieving to meet new people and find support in an informal social setting.

Join us for our annual golf tournament on Friday, July 24 at Truro Golf Club!

The tournament is a 9-hole four person scramble, and includes supper at the Clubhouse, prizes and 50/50. Registration begins at 1pm.

Registration is $600 per team of 4 (or $150 per person) in support of the programs and services of the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society.

Space is limited to 16 teams

Help us grow our HUG Tree! We're embarking on a co

Help us grow our HUG Tree! We're embarking on a community project to create a tree from granny squares, with every square telling a story. And we need your help!

Drop in to the Hospice office and crochet a square to add to the tree between 1:30pm and 3pm on the following dates:

Tuesday, May 12
Tuesday, May 26

We'll have yarn available or you can bring your own. No registration is required.

Join us on the third Wednesday of every month at 9am at East Hants Sportsplex for our Walk & Talk sessions.

Our next session is this Wednesday, April 15 from 9am until 10am.

It's an opportunity for you to talk with Hospice staff about anything grief-related, and no registration is necessary.

We're so excited to see Dr. Sarah Boston on stage

We're so excited to see Dr. Sarah Boston on stage at You'll Die Laughing in support of Colchester East Hants Hospice Society on May 7 at The Marigold!

Along with being a stand up comedian, Sarah is a veterinary surgical oncologist, author, actor, podcaster and dog mom (not necessarily in that order). Her journey through cancer (both having it and treating it) became her bestselling memoir, LUCKY DOG: HOW BEING A VETERINARIAN SAVED MY LIFE.

She is fascinated by the intersection of medicine and comedy and the people who are in that space, so she started a podcast called Comedicine where she talks to healthcare professionals who do comedy.

Grief is a natural emotional and physical reaction

Grief is a natural emotional and physical reaction to loss and is different for everyone. Our grief groups offer a space for collective sharing of emotions and experiences.

We're offering an 8 week Peer Grief Support Group in Shubenacadie on Wednesday mornings at 11am beginning on April 29. These sessions will take place at the After Trauma Empowerment Network at 2836 Highway 2.
