Volunteer Training & Education

Our organization would not exist without the thousands of hours that our dedicated team of volunteers contribute each year. Each one freely shares their time, skills and talents to keep our programs operating each year so we can continue to serve families in Colchester and East Hants.

Our volunteer training is a tiered approach and is offered twice per year in October and April.  All of our volunteer applications are screened to ensure our organization can meet expectations in volunteering and to maintain client safety. Once an application has been accepted, every volunteer receives orientation and comprehensive training at the level appropriate for their volunteer roles.

Thinking about becoming a volunteer?  There are many different roles volunteers can have in our organization!

Do you want to help out with events and fundraising? Maybe you are interested in providing companionship or other supports to individuals or the families while they are dying?  Or become a grief facilitator who supports peer led grief groups in our communities.
