Calling all knitters and crocheters! Lapghans needed!One of the honours our volunteers have is to gift lapghans to patients on the Palliative Care Unit at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre but our inventory is running low.If you are interested in making lapghans for distribution by Colchester East Hants Hospice Society volunteers, please contact us for details at 902-893-3265 or info@cehhospice.org.Lapghans are a modest covering for your lower body when being transported in a wheelchair, and provide warmth when used as a shawl or additional bedding over your feet. They are cozy and homey, made by a caring heart from our community. For some family members, the lapghan becomes a cherished item.Requirements:• Must be a minimum of 3 feet X 4 feet. • Those who are quite ill or reaching the end of their life tend to have very sensitive skin so lapghans must be made with very soft yarn. ... Give someone special something from our HUG collection this holiday season!

A reminder that our Angels Remembered tree lightin

A reminder that our Angels Remembered tree lighting is this Thursday (November 28) at 6:30pm after our annual general meeting.

If you are unable to attend, look for Hospice and our Angels Remembered trees at The Hub Shopping Centre starting on Thursday.

Trees will also be located at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre in Elmsdale and Guardian C.G. Fulton Pharmacy in Tatamagouche.

Colchester East Hants Hospice Society staff and volunteers had a great time creating our HUG Kitchen gingerbread float and participating in Downtown Truro's Santa Claus Parade yesterday (Sunday, November 24)!

We invite you to attend Colchester East Hants Hospice Society's AGM on Thursday, November 28 at 5pm at our office (89 Queen Street).

The meeting will be followed by the lighting of our Angels Remembered Tree at 6:30pm. Enjoy seasonal music, hot apple cider, cookies featured in our recipe calendar, and the opportunity to chat with Hospice staff and volunteers during the lighting of the tree.

We also invite you to place an angel on the tree in memory of a loved one.
