When you drive by our home on Queen Street, you wi When you drive by our home on Queen Street, you will notice our memorial candle in the second floor, centre window in honour of Gerald Shearer.

A small wooden HUG that he created as a gesture of gratitude has grown into so much more. Over the years, Gerald has crafted thousands of HUGs that have been embraced by so many in our communities and shared with people around the world. His belief that everyone needs a HUG at times was the basis for the creation of The HUG Centre that we launched in 2022.

We are deeply grateful for his kindness and generosity and our heartfelt condolences to Gerald’s family. It is an honour and privilege for our organization to continue to share his legacy 💛

“No act of kindness is too small. The gift of kindness may start as a small ripple that over time can turn into a tidal wave affecting the lives of many.” -Kevin Heath
