The Hospice staff are a compassionate and amiable group of professionals dedicated to supporting the families in our communities. Bringing a wide variety of skills and strengths to the organization, the team blends friendly warmth with dedicated passion.

Executive Director

Craig Johnson

Craig has a diverse background in non-profit management, fundraising, and
communications. Interested in governance, community building, and social
enterprise, Craig is driven to ensure organizations like Hospice play a vital
role in a sustainable future for Colchester East-Hants.

Social Worker

Janet Allen, MSW, RSW

Janet joined the Hospice team in the spring of 2012. Her professional
background includes counselling survivors of sexual abuse, women’s health
research, and social work education. Janet’s current role at Hospice is
primarily grief and bereavement support and counselling.

Serena Lewis, RSW

Serena is passionate about the cause of hospice palliative care in our community, and
serves as an vocal advocate and educator.

Volunteer Coordinator

Mary McLean

Mary has worked as a Family and Marriage Counsellor in Northern British Columbia,
and as a Mental Health Counselor to the students of StFX University.  Her passion
has always been in Palliative and Hospice Care. Mary joins Hospice to continue and
strengthen the vital volunteer programs and services.

Administrative Assistant

Sharlene Hingley

Sharlene has been with Hospice since January 2012. Prior to joining the team she
has been working in the administrative field for over 10 years. Sharlene also has a
Nursing background and has a passion for working in healthcare and helping people.
