"I chose to do my work placement with hospice because the care and support shown to families entering the grieving process has been a topic of interest of mine the past couple of years. I believe that death should not be a taboo subject.
It is something we all encounter in our lives and to be able to face it, cope with it, have the support of others within it, and to be able to make the choices best for us and honour the feelings of the deceased is a very empowering thing. I think it is one of the most beautiful things you can offer a person, to be able to support them in a time of such vulnerability and to let them know that they have the ability to make choices, even in a time where everything seems out of their control." ...
