Daisy Days
A sign of spring.
Each year just in time for Spring, the Hospice Society is pleased to join with other hospices in Nova Scotia to host Daisy Days. Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association (NSHPCA) coordinates an annual provincial “Daisy Days” campaign to raise awareness of hospice-palliative care in our province. The campaign first began more than 12 years ago in Cape Breton and has since sprung up in various locations throughout Nova Scotia. Locally the campaign runs during the first and second weeks of May in Tatamagouche and is championed by local palliative care consult nurse, Martha Underwood, sponsored by Mike’s Foodland and Fulton’s Drug Store. Look for “Daisy Days” posters at Mike’s Foodland to pick up your daisies next May.
“‘Daisy Days’ campaign is one way to bring attention to the important role palliative care plays at the end of life.” – Krista McMullin, NSHPCA past president
