Sharon Corcoran President

Sharon is the owner/broker of RE/MAX Fairlane Realty in Truro. She is the top selling Real Estate Agent and has been inducted into the prestigious RE/MAX Hall of Fame for her sales performance. Sharon is an active Rotarian and serves her community tirelessly by leading or participating in numerous committees, boards and events.

Rod Jones Vice President

Rod Jones is the President of Caldwell Roach, having began his insurance career in 1973 in Moncton, NB. He moved to Truro in 1980 and has since served as President of Insurance Brokers Assoc of NS, Chair of Atlantic Provinces Assoc of Insurance Brokers in 1992-1993, and President of Insurance Brokers Assoc of Canada in 1996-1997. He is an active Rotarian and has served on many community boards.

Mike Scott Past President/Secretary

Mike Scott's involvement with Hospice dates back to his former tenure as President of Sobeys operations in Atlantic Canada and the introduction of the "Food from the Heart" program. Originally from Scotland, Mike has extensive business experience across Europe and Canada including 13 years with Coca-Cola. Mike joined the Society in 2006 and became President in 2007 assuming that position after Krista McMullin, who was pivotal in the early development of the Society. Mike and his family settled in Nova Scotia in 2003 and he, his wife Fiona and three sons live in Bible Hill.

Christa Barnhill Leblanc Treasurer

Christa grew up in a rural area of Colchester County and returned to the area in 2002 after completing her business degree at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. Christa received her Chartered Accountants designation in 2005 and worked with Grant Thornton LLP in Truro for 7 years before joining Clarke Inc of Halifax as Manager of Taxation. She became the Society's Treasurer in November of 2008 and feels strongly about the work of the society in supporting families throughout this region. Christa and her family currently reside in East Hants.

Dr. Dave Henderson Past President of NSHPCA

Dave Henderson has been the Medical Director for the Colchester East Hants Palliative Care Program in Truro, NS since 2004, is the current President of the Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association and has served as the Clinical Representative on the Hospice Society Board from inception. Dave has been a leader in hospice palliative care across Canada and the US for many years. He resides in Truro with his wife and four children.
